Western culture has been shaped by many forces, resulting in unquestioned assumptions about everything from academic life to public policy. Often the Bible has been squeezed out of shape by these forces. What might the Bible itself say about that, and how might its counter-cultural message make its way in tomorrow’s world?
N.T. (Tom) Wright is Research Professor of New Testament and Early Chrisitanity at St. Mary's College, the University of St. Andrews, in Scotland. He served as Bishop of Durham (Church of England) from 2003-2010. Before that, he served as Canon Theologian at Westminster Abbey. He has also held academic posts at McGill University in Montreal and Oxford University in England. With two BAs, an MA, a DPhil, and a DD from Oxford, Wright has published widely in New Testament studies and theology. His books include Jesus and the Victory of God, Simply Jesus, and How God Became King. He is also the author of a series of New Testament commentaries published under the title of The New Testament for Everyone.
